Participants are provided with the most recent information on home food safety; how to stock your pantry for successful “last minute meals;” and recommendations for healthy meals by the National Center for Nutrition and Dietetics.  The concepts are carried out by volunteers and residents at an informal evening of interaction and hands-on experience in cooking  easy, inexpensive and healthy menu selections.Each year a new theme is created for the program.   The evening culminates with a tasting of all of the delicious recipes. Residents leave the event with a folder filled with information and the recipes presented.

Our last event was held at Sojourner house on March 5, 2014.

The lesson was easy, inexpensive snacks.
